About the product

Canna River claims this is a full spectrum extract. Our lab tests confirmed a full-spectrum hemp extract containing CBD, THC, CBC, CBG, and trace levels of other cannabinoids.

The independent labs found that Canna River 5000 mg contained about 2% more CBD than suggested by their label, which is right on the money.

Jeremy's Take

Canna River is from Thousand Oaks, California. It is one of the very best deals for a full spectrum extract that you’ll find. Check out my company profile here. Their 1000 mg formula also tested well.

1.9 cents per milligram of CBD is a rock bottom price. This deal was at the $100 range, so you need to pay to play with that deal. I've only tested one other quality brand that’s cheaper than Canna River, which was Cibadol. The average CBD costs 10 cents per milligram. Six cents per milligram of CBD is great, under 4 cents is rare, and under 2 cents per milligram is an achievement claimed by few CBD companies.

The Canna River 5000 mg has a similarly clear and light viscosity oil to their 1000 mg formula. The lemon raspberry flavor hits you like a pixie stick. It's sugary good and that’s saying a lot considering it’s sweetened with sucralose and I’m generally not a fan of sucralose. The after flavor of hemp has hints of tobacco or oak. The 5000 mg tastes just as good as the 1000 mg, which is remarkable. 5000 mg full spectrum formulas typically taste awful, but Canna River is a rare exception. It tastes like candy.

About 85 mg of CBD is a potent dose. 2.7 mg of THC is hefty and almost at the limit of hemp products. If you're sensitive to THC, this product may not be for you. However, many people will enjoy the increased relaxation that may come with those THC levels. Over 4 mg of CBC and about a milligram of CBG may also add value to this full spectrum hemp extract. Canna River's 5000 mg is a well-round CBD product with lots of cannabinoids.

*It's common to see CBD doses at 5 mg, 15 mg, 25 mg, and 50 mg for consumer products. Researchers use much larger doses (25 mg to 1500 mg of CBD). CBD dosing is highly individualized.

No complaints here. The box, the bottle, the dropper, and the label are all top-notch. Canna River has one of the best presentations that I've seen for a CBD product. I appreciate that they give all the info you need on the bottle and the box. They did a great job.

Overall Thoughts

This is hands down one of the best CBD products I've tried. My only complaint is that, generally, I'm not too fond of artificial sweeteners. However, the lemon raspberry flavor is incredible for a full spectrum extract with over 5000 mg of CBD. It tastes like candy. The cost per milligram is outstanding. The cannabinoid profile is great. The packaging is top notch. I'm impressed.
