We purchased this CBD product and tested it at independent testing facilities to measure levels of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids and compare the results to the manufacturer's claims. Here are the results. (Learn more about our review process.)
The unadulterated test results on this page come directly from these certificates of analysis from two independent labs, which we pay directly. These are two independent lab tests of one product, at one point in time. We do not guarantee that all products or labs will produce the same results. Lab results may differ based on the different methodologies of testing used by each lab or inconsistencies in the product. Added ingredients may affect lab results. Volume of creams and edibles may change due to factors such as temperature, and this may impact lab results. Learn more about our review process.
CBDMedic claims to have 5 mg of CBD per gram (200 mg total CBD in a 40 gram bottle). The labs found about 5 mg of CBD per gram. There is no suggested serving size, but they state on the box to limit to 4 applications per day.
CBD dosing is highly individualized.
CBDMedic claims this is a broad-spectrum extract that contains CBD and other cannabinoids, but NO THC. Both labs confirmed this is a broad-spectrum extract with CBD, trace levels of other cannabinoids, and zero THC.
Both Labs found that CBDMedic was within 3% of their claimed CBD levels, which is exceptionally accurate.
CBDMedic suggests using this product on the body to soothe sore muscles or minor aches and pains associated with strains, bruises, and sprains.
CBDMedic was acquired by the largest CBD company, Charlotte’s Web, in March of 2020. CBDMedic became one of the fastest-growing CBD topical brands after partnering with the former Patriot star Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski infamously said the CBD cured his CTE, which can only be proven in a postmortem (after death) autopsy. In other words, don’t trust anything Gronkowski says about CBD. While there is some research on CTE and CBD, there isn’t enough evidence to claim that CBD can treat CTE. Nonetheless, CBDMedic is known for making great CBD products and they're now owned by one of the best CBD companies on earth.
This is about 21 cents per mg of CBD. Slap me. There's something you should know: I pay for every CBD product that I review on this website to stay independent. What I test is the same thing as what you buy. I'm also cheap. This leaves me in a predicament because I love this cream and refuse to buy it. Twenty-one cents per mg is too rich for my blood. I like to purchase CBD for 2 cents per mg, maybe 10 cents if I want to treat myself with something luxurious. Twenty-one cents, however, is insulting.
Wow. This smells so good. It's got menthol and camphor, like Vicks Vapor Rub, but it's also got a naturally sweet smell with some smoky spice. The ingredients are natural and include beeswax (organic), frankincense oil (citrus, spice smell), honeysuckle, myrrh oil (woody, Smokey smell), and jojoba seed oil (slightly nutty aroma). There's zero hemp smell, which is excellent because hemp stinks. It's a little manly, but I have a beard, and you would expect a hipster with a beard to smell like this. I'm not a hipster, I don't use beard oil or cut my hair regularly, but this smell inspires me to do so. Well played, CBDMedic. I could smell this all day. I think it might appeal to men. My wife said, "it only smells like Vicks, just medicinal, it's overwhelming, I don't smell anything else that you’re talking about.” I smell it all and I love it.
The strength is about 5 mg of CBD per gram. This small bottle holds 40 grams and has 200 mg of CBD. It’s got no THC and just trace amounts of other cannabinoids that probably won’t do anything. 5 mg of CBD is on the light side of CBD relief. However, CBD absorption and comfort are highly individualized and we don't know the CBD doses needed when mixed with other topical ingredients. Camphor and menthol provide hot and cooling relief, so it isn't easy to pinpoint if CBD provides relief or if it's one of the other proven ingredients.
CBDMedic has the clean look of something you would buy in a pharmacy. Yeah, there is a cannabis leaf on the front, but they mixed it with the star of life symbol-you know, the same symbol a CBD Medic would wear. It looks clean and professional. The cream itself is slightly transparent and looks like Vicks Vapor Rub. It goes on clear.
I'm a little upset with how much I like the product. I am writing this review with a tingling on my neck that is radiating with relaxation. The aroma of a mint spice is around me. Yet, this cannot go on because I refuse to pay over 20 cents per mg of CBD. Keep this in mind when you're looking for a Christmas Gift for me because I don't mind if you pay this much. This is one of my favorite CBD products, from one of my favorite CBD companies, which I refuse to purchase.
CBDMedic offers a variety of CBD topicals. Their parent company, Charlotte’s Web, offers CBD oil, capsules, gummies, and CBD for dogs.
