* Products tested prior to 2020 were sent to only one independent testing facility.
The unadulterated test results on this page come directly from these certificates of analysis from two independent labs, which we pay directly. These are two independent lab tests of one product, at one point in time. We do not guarantee that all products or labs will produce the same results. Lab results may differ based on the different methodologies of testing used by each lab or inconsistencies in the product. Added ingredients may affect lab results. Volume of creams and edibles may change due to factors such as temperature, and this may impact lab results. Learn more about our review process.
Garden of Life claims to have 20 mg of CBD per 1 mL serving. We found that each 1 mL serving contains about 23 mg of total cannabinoids, including 22.5-23.5 mg of CBD and no THC.
*It’s common to see oral CBD products with doses for pets at 1 mg, 3 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, to over 25 mg. We recommend speaking with a veterinarian or following manufacturer directions. CBD dosing is highly individualized in humans and our pets share the same unique endocannabinoid system. The type of CBD product, the kind of pet, size of pet, conditions, the severity of conditions, and individual tolerances will dramatically change your pet's ideal CBD dose.
The average full-spectrum extract for humans costs 10 cents per milligram of CBD,and the average broad spectrum extract for humans costs 9.7 cents per milligram of CBD. This product is 6.5 cents per milligram of CBD, making it cheaper than the average broad spectrum extract.
Instructions: Shake well. Give suggested dose twice per day. (See package for size dose per weight of pet.) For use in dogs only.
Garden of Life claims this is a broad spectrum extract. Our lab tests confirmed a broad spectrum hemp extract that contains CBD, CBC, CBDV, and possibly trace amounts of other cannabinoids, but no THC. (Lab A reported trace amounts of THC, but Lab B did not confirm any THC in this product.)
According to the independent labs, this Garden of Life product contained 12% to 17.5% more CBD than suggested by their label. A solid B score for accuracy.
This is an ok CBD product for pets. The CBD dose is high at over 20 mg per 1 mL serving. Garden of Life labels this broad-spectrum, which should include other cannabinoids. It doesn't contain meaningful levels of additional cannabinoids. Those trace levels of CBC probably will have no effect. However, broad-spectrums typically don't have significant levels of other cannabinoids.
Lab A did find trace levels of THC, but they are so low that most labs would consider this a THC-free product.
The price is reasonable and the company is reliable. I like that it's peanut butter flavored. If you were looking for a CBD oil with no other cannabinoids, this is decent. If you were looking for a broad-spectrum extract with many other cannabinoids, move along, there's nothing to see here.
