We purchased this CBD product and tested it at independent testing facilities to measure levels of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids and compare the results to the manufacturer's claims. Here are the results. (Learn more about our review process.)
The unadulterated test results on this page come directly from these certificates of analysis from two independent labs, which we pay directly. These are two independent lab tests of one product, at one point in time. We do not guarantee that all products or labs will produce the same results. Lab results may differ based on the different methodologies of testing used by each lab or inconsistencies in the product. Added ingredients may affect lab results. Volume of creams and edibles may change due to factors such as temperature, and this may impact lab results. Learn more about our review process.
Social CBD claims to have 16.67 mg of CBD per 1 mL. The labs found about 17 mg of CBD per 1 mL.
Instructions: Apply a .3 mL drop per 10 lbs weight in food, water or by mouth.
Social CBD claims this is a broad-spectrum extract, which should include CBD, other cannabinoids, and zero THC. The lab reports suggest this oil is not “Broad Spectrum” because it doesn’t contain other cannabinoids. The labs found CBD and possibly CBDV, which is common in CBD isolate or pure CBD oils.
The independent labs found this Social CBD product contained about 3% more CBD than suggested by their label.
Social CBD is a rebrand of Select CBD, which our labs found accurate in the past. They may have chosen a new name to distance themselves from THC products or Select CBD's original owner. I’ve also lab tested their broad-spectrum (for humans) and muscle rub products.
The cost is just under 10 cents per milligram. That’s about average for broad-spectrum CBD products for humans. However, our lab findings suggest that this is product just CBD, and CBD-only products average about 7.5 cents per milligram of CBD.
The flavor is bacon. This was not tested on any animals. Ok, I tried it to see. Who doesn't like bacon flavor? It tasted like bacon, but it also tasted like dog food. As a human, I was not a fan. However, your pet may like it.
Our labs suggest that this CBD oil is 17 mg of CBD per mL. Social CBD recommends 0.3 mL per 10 lbs. of weight, or about 5 mg of CBD, according to our lab reports. For example, they recommend 2.7 mL for a 90-pound dog or about 46 mg of CBD. That’s a large dose and it’s important to note that weight is only one factor that determines your pet's tolerance for CBD. However, this is THC free and you won't need to worry about THC's side effects. This is labeled as a broad-spectrum extract, which should include other cannabinoids. However, our labs suggest that this oil doesn't have any meaningful levels of additional cannabinoids.
*It’s common to see oral CBD products with doses for pets at 1 mg, 3 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, to over 25 mg. We recommend speaking with a veterinarian or following manufacturer directions. CBD dosing is highly individualized in humans and our pets share the same unique endocannabinoid system. The type of CBD product, the kind of pet, size of pet, conditions, the severity of conditions, and individual tolerances will dramatically change your pet's ideal CBD dose.
The clear liquid comes in a premium bottle and box. The dropper has mL markers so that you can give smaller doses. I have zero complaints about the look. I think your dog will like the look too, but I can't be sure.
Social CBD claims this is a broad-spectrum extract, which should contain other cannabinoids but our labs suggest that this is nothing more than CBD isolate or pure CBD. However, it's common for CBD companies to mislabel broad-spectrum products. It's just CBD at a slightly-above-average price for pure CBD products.
Social CBD offers CBD oils, topicals, vapes, patches, gummies, soft gels, and CBG products.
