We purchased this CBD product and tested it at independent testing facilities to measure levels of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids and compare the results to the manufacturer's claims. Here are the results. (Learn more about our review process.)
The unadulterated test results on this page come directly from these certificates of analysis from two independent labs, which we pay directly. These are two independent lab tests of one product, at one point in time. We do not guarantee that all products or labs will produce the same results. Lab results may differ based on the different methodologies of testing used by each lab or inconsistencies in the product. Added ingredients may affect lab results. Volume of creams and edibles may change due to factors such as temperature, and this may impact lab results. Learn more about our review process.
Veritas Farms claimed to have 5 mg of CBD per gummy. They don’t state the weight of each gummy, so we’ve calculated the average weight per gummy to be 9.458 g. Based on our lab results, which measured in grams, we found that each gummy contains a total of 9.14 mg of cannabinoids, including 9.06 mg of CBD and 0.08 mg of THC.
*It's common to see CBD doses at 5 mg, 15 mg, 25 mg, and 50 mg for consumer products. Researchers use much larger doses (25 mg to 1500 mg of CBD). CBD dosing is highly individualized.
Warning: the value score is not reliable because it is based on lab results and the labs found this product far from accurate.
Instructions: None stated on package.
Veritas Farms claims this is a CBD-only product. Lab B found only CBD. Lab A found CBD and trace amounts of THC, but since the THC content was not confirmed by Lab B, we can call this a "THC free" product.
The bad news: both of the independent labs found that Veritas Farms' gummies contained nearly double the amount of CBD suggested by their label (81% to 94.8% more CBD).* Update: We purchased and tested this product a few months ago. According to Veritas Farms' website, this product is now more potent—with 9 mg CBD per gummy, not 5 mg per gummy like the packaging claimed on the product we received. So it appears they have either changed their formula or updated their packaging to be more accurate.
* Veritas Farms' packaging does not disclose the net weight of the package (in grams) so we calculated it to measure the accuracy of their CBD mg claims. The total weight of the gummies in this package was 283.74 g, which we calculated by taking the average weight of a gummy (9.458 g) and multiplying that by the total gummies in the package (30).
F score, huh? Veritas means "truth" and the labs found that this product is far from truthful. Both labs found about 9 mg of CBD per gummy. However, they should contain 5 mg each. I'm not going to sugar coat it, the labs found that Veritas is unreliable.
This product's label has changed to 9 mg of CBD per gummy. I'm not sure if Veritas changed their formula or updated their package to the correct amount. The other Veritas Farms products I tested in the past were accurate, so maybe they were in the middle of a formula change. In any case, the results are unacceptable.
The cost is average at about 13 cents per milligram, but that's based on the lab results, and who knows if each package will have almost double the amount of CBD on the label
These gummies are giant for only containing 9 mg of CBD. I must admit that they taste delicious, with zero hemp flavor, they melt on your tongue, and the wild berry is not overly sweet. But the lab results were terrible.
