We purchased this CBD product and tested it at independent testing facilities to measure levels of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids and compare the results to the manufacturer's claims. Here are the results. (Learn more about our review process.)
The unadulterated test results on this page come directly from these certificates of analysis from two independent labs, which we pay directly. These are two independent lab tests of one product, at one point in time. We do not guarantee that all products or labs will produce the same results. Lab results may differ based on the different methodologies of testing used by each lab or inconsistencies in the product. Added ingredients may affect lab results. Volume of creams and edibles may change due to factors such as temperature, and this may impact lab results. Learn more about our review process.
Veritas Farms claims to have 6.6 mg of full-spectrum hemp oil per 1 mL. Lab A found 6.79 mg of total cannabinoids, including 6.3 mg of CBD, 0.14 mg of THC, and trace levels of other cannabinoids.
*It’s common to see oral CBD products with doses for pets at 1 mg, 3 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, to over 25 mg. We recommend speaking with a veterinarian or following manufacturer directions. CBD dosing is highly individualized in humans and our pets share the same unique endocannabinoid system. The type of CBD product, the kind of pet, size of pet, conditions, the severity of conditions, and individual tolerances will dramatically change your pet's ideal CBD dose.
The average (human) full-spectrum extract costs 10 cents per milligram of CBD. This is expensive at 16 cents per milligram of CBD. Their human full-spectrum tincture is the same price but comes with 25% more CBD. Oddly, they charge 25% more for their pet tincture per milligram of CBD than their human products. Update: their new formula now comes with 250 mg for the same price or around 12 cents per milligram, which is the same price as their human oil.
Instructions (from the company's website):
Do not exceed more than 60mg (9mL) per day.
Veritas Farms claims this is full-spectrum hemp oil. Our lab tests confirmed a full-spectrum hemp extract that contains CBD and trace levels of THC, CBC, and CBG.
The independent labs found Veritas was within 2% accuracy of total cannabinoid levels. That’s exceptionally accurate. We measured total cannabinoid levels because Veritas Farms does not specify CBD levels on their bottle.
I thought Veritas Farms was great when I tested their watermelon tincture for humans, although it was a little pricey. Their pet tincture tested well at the lab, but I would like to see more transparency on CBD levels, which they don't mention on the bottle. I don't particularly appreciate that they charge more for their pet tincture than their human tinctures. Hook a dog up. This brand uses marketing like "be truly healthy" and advertises a bunch of organic ingredients. This pet tincture has organic coconut oil, but then it also contains hydrolyzed soy and partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. That makes absolutely no sense at this price point. 16 cents per milligram of CBD is too much to pay for a tincture with partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. However, their new formula for this product line now lists simpler and less conflicting ingredients. It's also cheaper.
