We purchased this CBD product and tested it at independent testing facilities to measure levels of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids and compare the results to the manufacturer's claims. Here are the results. (Learn more about our review process.)
* Products tested prior to 2020 were sent to only one independent testing facility.
The unadulterated test results on this page come directly from these certificates of analysis from two independent labs, which we pay directly. These are two independent lab tests of one product, at one point in time. We do not guarantee that all products or labs will produce the same results. Lab results may differ based on the different methodologies of testing used by each lab or inconsistencies in the product. Added ingredients may affect lab results. Volume of creams and edibles may change due to factors such as temperature, and this may impact lab results. Learn more about our review process.
Veritas Farms claims to have about 10.5 mg of cannabinoids per gram (600mg in a 57g bottle). Our labs found that each gram contains about 12 mg of CBD, 0.30 mg of THC, and trace levels of other cannabinoids.
* CBD dosing is highly individualized.
Veritas Farms claims this is full-spectrum hemp oil. Our lab tests confirmed a full-spectrum hemp extract containing CBD, THC, CBG and trace amounts of other cannabinoids.
Our labs found that Veritas Farms contained 18% to 20% more cannabinoids than suggested by their label, which is acceptable. We measured this product in total cannabinoids because of the claim of "600mg full-spectrum hemp oil." Veritas Farms did not specify CBD quantity. Lab A found this product contained 668 mg of CBD, which is great if you were anticipating 600 mg of CBD.
Although the below ingredients are common and considered safe thus far in research, there are some safety concerns. I'm not worried about common ingredients in cosmetics, but feel free to freak out about these Food Babe types of health concerns.
Veritas Farms makes premium CBD products out of a small farm in Colorado. You can find them on the shelves of major retailers, such as Kroger and CVS. I did an in-depth company profile in my review of their 500mg tincture, which tested well.
Veritas Farms comes in at 4.5 cents per milligram of CBD (according to Lab A). CBD creams have a wide range of prices, but this is definitely on the low end. Veritas Farms is a premium brand, something you would expect to find in a spa. Their 500 mg tincture came in at about 10 cents per milligram of CBD, which is about the average cost of CBD. This sports cream is a good deal.
It’s unscented. It has a very slight smell of hemp extract and something natural, perhaps the olive oil. It also has the clean smell of cream, but I can't say exactly what that smell is. The hemp smell is not too strong and it seems to almost go away after about two minutes. You can still smell a small hint of something natural, but you won't know that it's the hemp smell. After 10 minutes, it's hard to smell anything at all. The scent is ok for an unscented product, but by no means does it smell good. I've smelled better full-spectrum creams and I've come across a lot worse. Veritas Farms also makes a similar cream in minted lavender, which I would bet smells excellent based on their exceptional flavor in their tinctures and gummies.
The over 600 mg of CBD in this 2 oz (57 gram) bottle makes this a potent cream. It has about 12 mg of CBD and 0.3 mg of THC per gram. I doubt the trace amounts of other cannabinoids will have a measurable effect. The THC may add to CBD's benefits, but don't expect much because CBD absorbs about 10 times better than THC. Read here for more on dosing or topical absorption. As usual, I don't talk about my reaction to CBD because it can be misleading. CBD responses are based on your unique health conditions, tolerances, and endocannabinoid system.
The bottle looks beautiful. Packaging aesthetics are a strength of Veritas Farms. The actual lotion is a light brown cream color.
It’s good. The price is great. The company is trustworthy. It smells ok for an unscented hemp product, but I would personally go for their minted lavender lotion (soothe and revitalize). This full-spectrum sports cream isn't for you if you want a CBD cream that doesn't smell like hemp. Go with a pure CBD (from CBD isolate) if you don't like the smell of hemp. Also, if you don't like a bunch of cosmetic additives in your product, move along. If you buy health products without looking at the ingredients, like I do, pay no attention to that last statement. This is a good full-spectrum CBD cream at an excellent price.
Veritas Farms offers CBD extracts, capsules, pet products, gummies, topicals, skincare, and gift bundles.
